We believe in God as one God in three persons: Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
GOD THE FATHER
We believe in God our Heavenly Father, who created us and loves us unconditionally.
JESUS THE SON OF GOD
We believe that Jesus came to earth as God in human flesh. He walked among us to establish His Kingdom on earth, to restore human relationship to God and to renew the whole creation.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts people of their need for a Saviour; that we are all in need of forgiveness of sin. The Spirit gives strength, comfort and life to the church community. He equips the believer to proclaim His Message, and binds believers together as one body.
We believe that Jesus rose from the dead three days after his crucifixion. The resurrection was the day of new beginnings and new hope for anyone who receives Jesus as Lord of their life.
We believe that God still works powerfully in the world, including through miraculous signs and wonders. We are open to the Spirit’s work both in the world and in His Church, including the expression of spiritual gifts like healing, prophecy and tongues. All biblical gifts still have a place and can be expressed in a healthy and fruitful way.
THE COMMUNITY OF BELIEVERS
We believe that Christ created the church as a family that joins together to encourage, pray, worship, work, laugh, learn and fulfil together the establishing of God’s Kingdom here on earth. A follower of Jesus cannot experience the full blessing and transformation of the life of faith without being joined together with others in Christian community.
We believe in supporting fellow sojourners in Christ. We join in supporting followers of Jesus wherever they gather in proclaiming the Good News of the risen Saviour.
The Nicene Creed
The Nicene Creed is the most widely accepted statement of the Christian Faith. It captures the core of historic Christianity as professed by Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant churches across the world.
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.
Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
